Being in a coma

At the beginning of November, I did something very silly that I now regret, as it put me in hospital for 11 days and I was sectioned for 3 days while I was in there. But for the first three days I was in hospital I was so ill and it was touch and go as to if I would actually make it as I was in a coma and on a ventilator for part of it to aid my breathing. The entire doctors who spoke to me did say that I was lucky that I actually lived.

Being in a coma is one of the closest things you can get to dying without actually dying. While I was in the coma, it was a strange sensation. It was like I was having a dream while I was in there, like when you have a really vivid dream that you can remember.

Initially, the things I experienced were sort of centred on an illness that only affected transgender people. That you had to have an operation to remove some blood vessels from your hand to prevent you from getting the illness; but the only place me and another friend could get it done was up in Scotland. But once we got there, there were complications with the operation. Only one of us could have it.

My friend, I was with decided to make the sacrifices to save me and said that they would go without the operation so that I could have it and survive but as a result of that it meant that they died. This then caused major issues when I had the operation and was back up in the…
