I feel frustrated and not sure what to do

My brother has been recently been diagnosed with BPD and I talk to him a good amount now and he tells me some things about how he is doing but I know he holds some bits back which is only natural. But he only got properly diagnosed with a voluntary stay in hospital so they could do an assessment on him and get him the diagnoses and then be able to plan how to help him.

I think once my brother had told my mum the first thing she did was to call me to tell me, so I asked her if she wanted me to use my research skills to find out information on how we can be supportive and help him out. While in mid-conversation with my mum about this my sister-in-law contacted me too about the same thing.

So knowing how to research and put things together that the normal person can understand and you don’t need to be a psychiatrist to understand I put my mind to and found out as much as I could on help ideas for my brother but also things that my parents and his wife could also do to help.

Reading it and learning about this myself there were some points of overlap between my bipolar and his BPD, so when it came to these areas I know exactly what can help and how to suggest it in a way that they will not dismiss out of hand and do what they think helps them. As I know that such actions you think are beneficial at that point most are not and…
