Since this small but very vocal group decided to take on trying to stop was purely an administrative change, and they somehow convinced the government to ignore the fact the public consultation on the issue was hugely in favour of the change, they are now doing their victory lap that they have not made it easier for trans people to get their birth certificate changed like was proposed.

Now they have their sights set on something much bigger, they want to repeal the Gender Recognition Act altogether, to stop any trans person from being able to have their birth certificate reflect the gender they are.

Such an act would be a very interesting one to do if it happened, what would you do with all the people who have already changed their birth certificate. Would you nullify the change and make them resort back to having a birth certificate that reflected how they are born?

Or would you let those who have already done it keep it as it is because some of those people will be married and, while yes there is now same-sex marriage. You would during the repeal include a clause that switched all those who were married using their new birth certificate to a different type of marriage; is that a heterosexual marriage or a same-sex marriage.
