The inquest

So Monday was the inquest where from a legal perspective there would be a judgment on what happened.

As someone with a legal education and employment background, this held significance to me. This would be the last time I would properly use my degree and it was for Bella, the last act to aim to get the truth out there.

The last 8 months I spent building up my legal argument for this; there was a stamen that I entered into evidence that included information that I had not told anyone else but did this for a total stranger and was a hard thing to write. I had peer-reviewed medical papers that explain what is possible from taking ketamine.

Then there was the post-mortems and the toxicology reports that covered the scientific bits, but then explained things in normal English so that people could understand them. The reports both said that the combination of ketamine, cocaine and alcohol would have a high probability of causing that person to act in irrational ways and do things out of caricature.

Reading this evidence I was sure that the conclusion had to line up with what I was arguing was the situation as it happened. So as the inquest got closer I had a small degree of hope that it would go down as death through misadventure. This made me have no doubt that the work I had done was all good and would reflect the situation.
